Under Secretary of the Navy Erik Raven Visits Johns Hopkins APL
Under Secretary of the Navy Erik Raven visited the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) on May 16 along with members of his staff.
Mr. Raven spent the day at APL’s Laurel, Maryland, campus meeting with subject-matter experts and visiting several of the Lab’s state-of-the-art research facilities. He and his team received briefings focused on national security technologies and innovations across a number of domains including undersea warfare, advanced manufacturing for deep sea operations, unmanned underwater vehicles, unmanned aerial vehicles, expeditionary robotics, and air and missile defense.
Additionally, APL Director Ralph Semmel provided an in-depth overview of the Laboratory, highlighting its eight decades as a trusted research, engineering and analysis resource focused on the nation’s most complex defense and scientific challenges.
