Sarah E. M. Herman

Dr. Sarah Herman is the program manager for Biological and Chemical Sciences. She leads a diverse and expansive portfolio of research projects. With over two decades of professional experience in immunology, pharmacology, synthetic biology, and bioinformatics, her interests have focused on operationalizing biology and chemistry for military operations, health, and environmental security. Past projects have included novel immunotherapy development, microenvironment analysis, preclinical modeling, and molecular analysis of cellular response. Her research work has encompassed both laboratory experiments as well as translational, clinical, and field research. She has published more than 40 peer-reviewed journal articles, given numerous technical presentations, and supported scientific and technical reviews across the environmental, health, and defense sectors.
