Bio
BioDr. Frank Seelos is a co-investigator for Mapping Imaging Spectrometer for Europa (MISE), science operations lead for the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) Compact Reconnaissance Imaging Spectrometer for Mars (CRISM), and a member of the CRISM science team. Previously, he was a Mars Exploration Rover (MER) science team collaborator and the Pancam payload downlink lead (PDL). He was a student participant in both the MER Pancam prelaunch calibration campaign and the Field Integrated Design and Operations (FIDO) rover field trials. His contributions to these investigations include tactical and strategic science operations and uplink, instrument calibration, software development, data processing, Planetary Data System (PDS) deliverable data product generation, and science analysis. Dr. Seelos’ research interests include remote sensing with an emphasis on spectroscopy and photometry and numerical modeling and optimization applied to geophysical data analysis.
