Bio
BioDr. Eyal Bar-Kochba is a senior scientist with a background in solid mechanics. His research explores the role of mechanics in the nervous system during development, homeostasis, and disruption. Dr. Bar-Kochba has developed novel experimental techniques for measuring 3D deformations in both cellular and animal models and applied these techniques to study traumatic brain injury, neuronal activation, and glial mechanosensitivity. His work aims to advance our fundamental understanding of the nervous system and translate these insights into the development of therapeutic devices and interventions. Currently, Dr. Bar-Kochba serves as chief scientist of the Research and Exploratory Development Department’s Human Performance and Biomechanics Group.
