Colloquium: Killer Apps - Internet Scale AI Social Weapons

The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) has led to a surge of large language models and sophisticated image generators being used in nearly…well, everything. Generative AI has also created new opportunities for information warfare. While current discussions often center on the speed and decision-making capabilities of combat AI systems, the potential for AI-driven psychological manipulation on a massive scale requires equal attention. This type of manipulation could inflict significant damage on individuals, societies, and even nations. This talk will examine the possibilities of large-scale AI-driven psychological manipulation and propose strategies and interventions to counter this emerging threat.
