Bio
BioDr. Tyler Powell is a planetary scientist and postdoctoral fellow specializing in thermal infrared emission from airless bodies. He uses a combination of remote sensing datasets and numerical thermal modeling to investigate surface thermophysical properties and composition. He also studies impact cratering, distal ejecta, and crater chronology. He is a coinvestigator on the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) Diviner Lunar Radiometer Experiment and is a member of the BepiColombo Mercury Radiometer and Thermal Infrared Spectrometer (MERTIS) team.
