Bio
BioDr. Rick Fitzgerald has more than 35 years of engineering and project management experience. He joined APL in 2007 and served as project manager for the Van Allen Probes through development, launch, and early operations. Dr. Fitzgerald was the program area manager (PAM) for Civil Space in 2012, managing a large portfolio of missions, instruments, studies, grants, and proposals. He chaired the NASA Standing Review Board (SRB) for the ICON mission and was an SRB member for the GRACE Follow-On mission. He was project manager for the GUSTO mission and MISE instrument component development briefly while PAM and is the deputy project manager for Dragonfly.
