Bio
BioDr. Mikhail Sitnov has a background in plasma kinetics (Landau dissipation, plasma accelerators, thin current sheets, magnetic reconnection, tearing instability, dipolarization fronts, particle-in-cell simulations); nonlinear science (dynamical chaos, nonlinear time series forecasting, and phase space reconstruction); and data analytics (machine learning and data mining with K nearest neighbors, data ingestion, and assimilation). His current research focuses on magnetotail reconnection and mining space magnetometer data to describe structure and dynamics of Earth’s magnetosphere and its variations during storms and substorms.
