BioErin D. LaBarre is a senior engineer whose research activities include materials characterization, prototyping, testing in relevant environments, and independent verification and validation. Her recent project work has included development, evaluation, and integration of multifunctional materials for hypersonic apertures/seekers; leading the development of novel, durable anti-icing coatings; characterization of low-friction paint; prototyping novel, lightweight structures; testing and evaluation of novel biometric systems; design, characterization, and prototype development of multifunctional human tissue surrogates; development of verification and validation procedures; and specification development. Her areas of expertise include high-temperature materials, radio frequency materials and testing, biometrics, materials characterization, test standards, material qualification, and multifunctional coatings.
