BioDr. Erik Johnson is a senior senior research scientist whose work lies at the intersection of neuroscience, engineering, and computer science, aiming to elucidate neuroscience principles through better computational tools and mathematical modeling. He focuses on large-scale data analysis of neuroimaging data and applications of insights from neuroscience for improving machine-learning algorithms. Recent projects focus on developing and deploying a scalable dockerized analytics pipeline for processing large neuroimaging data that includes assessment methods for continual learning and transfer learning scenarios. Dr. Johnson also teaches neuroengineering courses with the Johns Hopkins Engineering for Professionals program. Additional areas of expertise include machine learning, computing systems, connectomics, signal processing, and optimization.
