BioDanielle Nachman is a senior staff scientist and project manager in the Applied Chemistry and Physics Group in APL’s Asymmetric Operations Sector. She has extensive experience in contaminant chemistry in the environment, specifically focused on halogenated organics, including research on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), soil and aquatic geochemistry, and detection of organic and inorganic chemicals in complex environments. She serves as project manager for an internally funded APL project to develop PFAS capture and destruction technologies as well as for a Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program-funded project to develop PFAS-free aqueous film-forming foam.
