Johns Hopkins APL’s Lisa Blodgett Joins Board of Naval Submarine League

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory is pleased to announce that Lisa Blodgett, head of the Force Projection Sector, has been named to the Board of Directors for the Naval Submarine League.

The Naval Submarine League is a professional organization for submariners and submarine advocates. Founded in 1982 and based in Annandale, Virginia, the League’s primary mission is to promote awareness of the importance of submarines to U.S. national security.

As head of the Force Projection Sector (FPS), Blodgett oversees the work of three mission areas: Precision Strike, Sea Control and Strategic Deterrence. FPS leads programs that enhance the capabilities of the nation’s submarine fleet and readiness of submarine-based ballistic missile systems, as well as those designed to provide precision strike and engagement. She previously served as the mission area executive for Sea Control.

Blodgett serves on the Advisory Board for the Submarine Technology Symposium and the executive Advisory Council for the NDIA Undersea Warfare Division and has also served on the Submarine Superiority Technical Advisory Group, providing perspective on the role of technology in addressing the increasing challenges of submarine missions.

Blodgett, who joined APL in 1991, holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University and master’s degrees in electrical engineering and technical management from Johns Hopkins University.
